Saturday 26th November. Northolt to Alperton

Fifteen polyrambler, a guest and Teddy the poodle joined the walk, starting at Northolt village. Our walk took us to Northolt Church that was closed, the gravestones  dating from around 1850 onwards. After a detour we eventually arrived at Northala Fields, a man-made country Style Park in London, where we were overtaken by the London strollers. We climbed the main peak (one of  four) and enjoyed great views that included Windsor Castle and BT Tower whilst we enjoyed mince pies and stollen provided by Lucy and Peter. After leaving these Fields we walked along the canal. Along the way we saw some nice mosaics, graffiti, birds and trees with autumn colours. Ten of us enjoyed the fare at The Ballot Box and talked about the club Christmas Lunches we had in 2009.
After lunch eight of climbed Horsenden Hill and walked back on to the canal via Gruffalo trail. At Alperton Station we boarded the buses to take us to nearest station, the Piccadilly Line being suspended due to faulty trains. Penny wins extra points as she continued the walk all the way home.
Thank you to all attendees. Many thanks, to Peter and Lucy, for the treats.
