SATURDAY 7th MARCH HENLEY via HAMBLEDON (Circular) 9.5 miles.

Update:

Following a very soggy walkover! I have decided to change the first part of this Saturday’s walk to avoid the path close to the river.

The walk will now take the higher path and approach Hambleden via the great wood. This will involve a couple of steeper ascents and some mud in sections of the wood so bring your poles. The overall length of the walk will be 9.5 miles.

Please bring a picnic lunch which we can eat in the church yard in Hambleden. There is also a village shop selling toasted sandwiches and cakes as well as tea and coffee. The Stag and Huntsman pub is a gastropub but has the only toilets and although accessible from the outside I suggest a few of us go there for a drink after eating our lunch.

I will meet the group at Henley Station at 10.25. There are public toilets in the station car park.
