Sunday 10th, Club Christmas lunch, Freemasons Arms, Covent Garden

Back to the old favourite after a less than successful change of venue last year.   15 Polyramblers met at Tower Hill for a short pre-lunch walk on a very cold and snowy day.   It was a slushy and slidy walk over Tower Bridge, along the South Bank to the Millenium Bridge and through Middle Temple and Lincoln’s Inn Fields to Long Acre.  Then 37 Polyramblers met at the Freemasons Arms for the annual Club Christmas lunch.Unfortunately, because of the snow in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire and problems with trains, 9 people were unable to travel to London.  The food was enjoyed by all those present.  The unclaimed meals were brought out as seconds so, for people with a big appetite, Christmas came early.  Someone passed out during Mike’s speech and another person felt very faint.  This was probably due to the hot room and the good food rather than the speech.
