Eight Polyramblers aligned at Kemsing station to be met by Kim and Siew Kee who were leading the walk. It was a beautiful sunny day, ideal for walking. Saturday 19 September: Sole Street Circular
Meeting at Victoria Station – our 9.07 train was platformed early so 5 of us boarded early. On reaching Sole Street station more of us gathered together on that platform. Kim & Siew Kee met us, having arrived by car. On leaving the station a large apple tree was pointed out to me hanging over the road bridge. We proceeded northwards through the village, and after some fields and a lane we reached Owletts – a National Trust manor and formerly the family home of renowned architect Sir Herbert Baker. Sunday 13 September: Linear walk from Loughton to Epping (Essex)
Engineering works on the Southend line meant a very late change to Saturday’s planned walk. Eighteen members and guests got the message and assembled at Loughton for a substitute ramble through Epping Forest. Saturday 5 September 2015 – Loop 13: Enfield Lock to Chigwell
10 Polyramblers were not put off by the rain to do part 13 of the London Loop. The rain soon stopped to be replaced by a cloudy day which cleared up in the afternoon. After reaching Enfield Lock and following the River Lea for a short while, we climbed into the Sewardstone Hills from where we could see the King George V reservoir which supplies London’s water.
