The greater part of the walk was after lunch and it took us passed a stud farm with horses grazing, and into an extensive wood where foot paths proved to be very muddy as well as not always easy to navigate. We eventually came to the edge of Whiteleaf Woods where we rejoined the Ridgeway which went passed the remains of WW1 practice trenches and soon came to the edge of an escarpment where we stood and admired the magnificent panorama of the vale of Aylesbury and the town of Princes Risborough nestling below. It was a short if somewhat slippery steep down hill walk into the town, where a small number of us decided to find a café and have a warm drink whilst the rest decided to hot foot it to the station where they managed to catch the train with minutes to spare.
Thanks to Pam for the photos
