Saturday August 1st. Bosham to Chichester

My 10 mile walk around Chichester Harbour needs to be done on a good day when the water sparkles and the boats bob. On a bad day we would be walking into the teeth of a gale.

The weather did not disappoint, unlike Southern Railways which managed to make us miss our connection to Bosham. Facing a 1 hour delay, we headed for the bus. Walking trip to Grazalema, Andalucia

A group of 19 of us went to Grazalema in Andalucia, in early June. The journey there had gone OK but it was with great relief that we stepped down from the coach in the main square of this attractive mountain village. We checked into our hotel, La Casa de las Piedras, and took a turn round the village, enjoying the extensive views .  The weather was pleasantly warm and we had a leisurely group meal at the Restaurant Simancon sitting outside at a long table. There were geckos on the walls and birds swooping to catch insects. London seemed a long way away.

Saturday 6th June Berkhamsted to Tring Station.

A small but select group joined me at Euston. After an unusually quiet, for Polyramblers, journey to Berkhamsted we were joined by another three walkers and made our way to the canal. I suggested a visit to Waitrose but no one was interested. Instead we stopped to watch two cygnets struggling to get out of the canal onto the bank. Their parents were too busy preening themselves to take any notice but the persistent cygnets made it in the end.
