Two flights of steps (87 and 152), a couple of steep descents and a few stiles. Bring poles if you use them. Buy single to Berwick. Dep. Victoria 9.25 (Clapham Junction 9.31) change Polegate 10.39/11.04 arr. Berwick 11.09 and single Newhaven Harbour to London Victoria. Dep. NH 19.30 change Lewes 19.41/19.55 arr. Victoria 21.06.

The first walk of the new programme will be the final stage of the Vanguard Way. Advance tickets are currently available for both journeys. This reduces the cost considerably.
Please ensure you bring plenty of food and water for the day. We will be taking a few short breaks throughout the day, rather than a long lunch break. There are refreshment points en route but we expect it may be too busy to stop. There are no toilets at Berwick station but they are available in Alfriston, Exceat and Seaford. We hope to view the
